Shani Dev is one of the most popular deities that the Hindus pray to ward off evil and remove obstacles. Shani occupies the seventh place among the nine planets. Shani is embodied in the planet Saturn and is the Lord of Saturday. Shani is the son of Surya and his wife Chhaya and hence also known as Chayyaputra. Lord Shanidev is Brother of Yum, the Hindu God of death. Shani-dev is depicted wearing blue or black robes, having dark complexion and riding a vulture or on an iron chariot drawn by eight horses. Shani occupies the seventh place among the nine planets which govern the world.
